Equipment

Brigade Equipment

The brigade has four NSW Rural Fire Service vehicles and a brigade owned quickfill trailer. The RFS categorises their vehicles depending on capability and use. There are 20 categories (Cat) and the vehicle category is used for vehicle identification.

The vehicles are equipped with similar items. Some of the equipment carried includes; rake-hoes for establishing fire breaks and moving burning logs, knapsacks for foot access to remote areas, Honda quick-fill pumps, axe and/or chainsaw, radios (digital/analogue), GPS, hoses and fittings and drip-torches for backburning and hazard reduction burns. Click on Inventory for a more detailed list.

Most training sessions involve the use of one or more of these items and vehicles to gain familiarity and proficiency.
